Regional Rabies Simulation Exercise 2019

Prevention is better than cure is the aim of activities done to curb the re-emerging of the zoonotic disease. MyOHUN collaborated with the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) perform the Regional Rabies Simulation Exercise held from 16^th to 18^th July in Langkawi that involved more than 150 veterinary officers, medical officers, academicians, and the local community. The exercise also included a representative from ASEAN countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Rabies Simulation Exercise, led by Dr. Salina Amat Bugis, is beneficial in building a team that acts fast and efficiently in dealing with the outbreak using streamlined contingency plans and procedures. The exercise was a huge success with the secretariat that planned and ran the exercise that involved Police Department, Health Office, Health Clinic, and District Office of Langkawi.
