Malaysia One Health University Network (MyOHUN) is delighted to announce the
appointment of Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Omar as the new MyOHUN
Chairman with effect in January 2020.
Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Omar is the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,
Universiti Putra Malaysia. Prior to that, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman served as
Institute of Bioscience’s Director from 2011 to 2019. He also serves as Chairman of
Institutional Biosafety Committee, President of World Poultry Association Malaysia,
Fellow of Academy Science Malaysia, and Regional Advisor Global Alliance for
Research on Avian Diseases. Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman also served as a
MyOHUN Executive Board member since 2014.
Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Omar succeeded YBhg. Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Hair
Bejo, who has served as MyOHUN Chairman for more than 7 years since the first
Emerging Pandemic Threat project in 2013. We would like to extend our utmost
gratitude to Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Hair Bejo for his leadership and guidance that
helped build and shape MyOHUN to its form today.

together as we stride into the One Health Workforce – Next Generation Project.
