The e-hailing and p-hailing industries are currently on the rise. Since mobile apps are just one click away, the demand and purchases during the COVID-19 pandemic have increased. The e-hailing service is focused on rental cars/taxis to pick up passengers and the p-hailing for the food delivery industry or buying goods online.

From 27 th to 30 th September 2021, a training on Safety Awareness on the Importance of COVID-19 among e-hailing and p-hailing Services Community was held to increase awareness about infectious disease transmission to communities of e-hailing p-hailing services. The training has been given special permission by the National Security Council of Malaysia.

176 e-hailing and p-hailing participants from various companies completed the training on safety awareness on the importance of COVID-19. Participants have been exposed to the management of positive cases, a person under investigation/surveillance, type of disinfectants, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Movement Control Order. At the end of the training, participants practiced their knowledge in determining the correct type of disinfectant chemicals, selecting the right PPEs, and performing disinfecting activities.

Due to the successes of the activity, there are a few e-hailing and p-hailing companies that have expressed interest to further discuss collaborating with UPM to organize similar events in the future. MyOHUN hopes this program can benefit every party so that we can continue to break the COVID-19 chain.
