A workshop on Empowering Women and Leadership in One Health took place from 23 to 26 July 2022 and was organized by MyOHUN with the support and encouragement from the Orang Asli Development Agency (JAKOA). A group of 30 students from UKM, UPM, USM, and USIM took part in this workshop that focused on the importance of gender equality and gender awareness in One Health. USAID’s gender specialist, Prof. Dr. Ndola Prata from the School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, gave a productive and lively session on gender equality and empowerment in One Health. Interactive discussions and field visits took place throughout the workshop. A visit to two Orang Asli villages, Kampung Orang Asli Abu and Kampung Orang Asli Susu, in Cameron Highlands, gave the opportunity to the students to interact with the villagers and observe the lifestyle and culture of the Semai tribe.
