Short Bio
My research interest mainly focuses on using molecular biology methods in harnessing resources from the diverse natural flora and fauna species in Sarawak. With previous experiences in molecular research using zebrafish as model organism to decipher the expression regulation of the LC-PUFA biosynthesis genes, my laboratory currently focuses on exploring potential local found Cyprinidae sp. in evaluating environmental biological interactions involving primarily with industrially derived synthetic substances. On a personal level, I am a senior lecturer teaching at UNIMAS in the Biotechnology Programme and have mentored more than a hundred students in their lab practices. My exposure to Malaysia One Health Network started only this year, 2022 with the training provided by the Sandia National Lab with MyOHUN collaboration in which i am currently certified as a professional in Biorisk Management.
