Dr. Chee received her PhD in molecular virology in 2005 from University of Malaya, Malaysia. Her research interest is in infectious diseases, particularly dengue, leptospirosis, and respiratory diseases including SARS-CoV-2. In 2016, she performed her sabbatical research at the University of Cambridge, UK and later collaborated with University of Cambridge on development of affordable near-patient diagnostics to distinguish infectious diseases.
