Dr Soraya completed her basic medical degree (MBBCh, BAO, BA) in Trinity College Dublin (1999). She then pursued her MMDSc (Parasitology) and PhdMDSc (Parasitology) in IIUM (2017). Dr Soraya teaches parasitology to both MBBS and postgraduate in IIUM. She has a special interest in Medical Education and Problem-Based-Learning. Dr Soraya has undergone biosafety & biosecurity training while undertaking the faculty laboratory coordinator post. At present, Dr Soraya is the Deputy Dean of Student Development & Community Engagement for the Kulliyyah (Faculty) of Medicine, IIUM (2020 – present).
