Short Bio

Dr Zulkhairul Naim Sidek Ahmad is a Senior Medical Lecturer at the Department of Public Health Medicine and Head of Department of Medical Education, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). He obtained a Medical Degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2009), Master of Public Health from the University of Dundee (2016), Master of Science in Healthy Aging, Medical Aesthetic and Regenerative Medicine from UCSI University (2018) and PhD from the University of Manchester (2021). His main research focus on the health effects of pesticide exposure including maternal and child health. His other areas of interest include health inequity, health promotion activities including one health and medical education particularly related to student assessments.
Dr. Naim’s career began as a House Officer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Likas Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Then, Medical Officer at Urology Unit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Medical Officer In charge of Paediatric Ward at Tenom Hospital. Later, he was transferred to Medical Department, Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
He began his career as an academician in June 2014 by joining the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UMS. He is actively publishing research and have over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
