Short Bio

Nazefah Abdul Hamid graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia with degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2002 and MSc in Molecular Biology (2006) from the same university. She underwent a higher postgraduate training programme at the University of Bristol (UK) and was awarded her PhD in Biochemistry in 2010. Her project involved DNA-protein interaction in the cervical cancer. Due to her strong interest in research, she underwent postdoctoral training at the Faculty of Medicine, Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2015-2016. As one of the founding member of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, USIM, she has contributed immensely to the development of the MBBS, MMedSc and PhD curriculum. She currently serves as an Associate Professor and the Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation) at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, USIM. Her research focuses on molecular characterisation and mechanism involved in the cervical cancer and other diseases.
