Short Bio
Assoc. Prof. Dr Hasliza Abu Hassim is a Lecturer at the Department of Veterinary Preclinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Currently, she hold a post as Deputy Director at Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security, UPM. Her field of expertise in teaching and research is in Animal Nutrition. She is also a qualified veterinarian and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree on 2005. She then pursed her Master of Science in Animal Nutrition at UPM in 2010 and further completed her PhD in Animal Nutrition at Ghent University, Belgium in 2012. Her research focus is towards enhancing a resilient tropical agriculture in the context of climate change for food security and sustainability. She actively involve in various national and international research projects for sustainable animal production through enhancing the nutrition and welfare management practices. Apart from teaching and research, she actively involved as speakers and expert reference for forum, conferences seminars on Animal Nutrition, especially on the awareness and knowledge sharing programmes with livestock farmers as well as pet owners.
