Prof Dato’ Dr Abdul Rashid Khan is a medical doctor with a Master’s in Health Science from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Australia and a PhD in Community Health from the National University of Malaysia (University Kebangsaan Malaysia). He is currently the Professor and Head, Department of Public Health Medicine in RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC). He has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and has written five books and several book chapters. He is also an advisory board member for numerous international medical journals. He is passionate about social influences on the health of marginalized populations especially the indigenous people of peninsular Malaysia.
His area of interest is engaging communities, especially marginalized communities on health-related One Health issues. Briefly, he has been involved with multidisciplinary team projects related to rabies, nutrition, covid19, animal-human interaction with the potential for zoonotic infections, food security, Malaria, leptospirosis and many more.
