ASEF Public Health Network is hosting a session on #AMR under agriculture stream at the Asia-Europe Environment Forum (ENVforum) Annual Conference 2021 “Circular Food Systems – Solutions to Reverse Climate Change? Aim of the session This session will look into shifting to a circular economy concerning agriculture and food. It will focus on how we can make a transition towards regenerative farming practice. Issues surrounding conventional agricultural practice, such as AMR, can be discussed. The session intends to outline necessary changes and attempts to generate recommendations on how these can be addressed. The outcome of the session will contribute to tackling overall challenges to mitigate climate change. It is a uniquely defined session connecting AMR with emerging environmental issues, circular food system in tackling climate change. Workshop on Training the trainers on One Health Integrated Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Surveillance Manual was held on 25th and 26th September 2018 in The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya to improve understanding among laboratory and surveillance personnel on One Health Integrated AMR Surveillance manual. Eighty-nine participants from the Ministry of Health, Department of Veterinary Services, National Public Health Laboratory, Department of Fisheries, Institute of Medical Research, Fisheries Research Institute, State Health Departments, Health Clinics, Hospitals, Laboratories and MyOHUN participated in this workshop.
One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Seminar & Launching of Malaysian Action
Plan on AMR (MyAP-AMR) was held on 27 th February 2018 in Auditorium JAKIM,
Kompleks Islam Putrajaya. The activity was a collaborative effort between Ministry of
Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry and MyOHUN with 500 ministerial
officers and academician attended the activity.
The objective of the seminar is to improve understanding among all related personnel on the
significance and importance of AMR and launching of the Malaysian Action Plan on AMR
2017-2021. The Launching Ceremony of Malaysian Action Plan on AMR was officiated by
YB Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Agriculture & Agro-Based Industry and
YB Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam, Minister of Health.
